Dear Friends,
A tragic event has taken place in our community and we need to take action.
Voichita Boloha, 28, a beautiful and talented woman, mother of two very small children, recently
committed suicide (2/20/08) as a result of a very profound form of postpartum depression after the
birth of her second child. Unfortunately, the early diagnosis of the disease and the treatment were not
effective in this case, and she could not live to see herself and her children living and suffering with a
mother who was not able to take care of them.
Her oldest child is a girl, Jessica, 22 months old, and a baby boy Jason, 9 months old.
Voichita's family in Romania has been informed of the tragic event and apparently they are trying to
obtain the visa and come here and decide if she can be taken to Romania for burial or not.
The problem is that the actual financial situation of the family in Romania doesn't allow them to decide
this particular matter.
What is certain is that the grandmother, Voichita's mother, is willing to take both children and raise
them in Romania, especially since, at this point, no father has come forward to request the adoption of
the children.
We are all shocked by this event, and there are many mothers out there who are constantly asking what
will happen to these children. I am sure that Voichita would have wanted the best for them, and
although she couldn't offer them that, we as a community need to help these children as much as we
can, until they find a safe home.
The priest of the church Voichita attended, Fr. Sergiu Cornea, has opened an account at Chase Bank,
where you can make a donation according to your ability, so that we can help both with Voichita's burial
and her family's travel here to take care of the necessary legal process for adopting the children and
providing them a family.
Please help these children,they did not choose their fate, to be raised without a mother...
the mother did not choose to suffer from a depression that ultimately killed her.

Voichita a ajuns in Harnicesti vineri seara 7-Mar-08 si tot satul a asteptat-o. A fost din nou o mare
tragedie, dar de data aceasta pe alt continent. Noi am ramas cu amintirea sfarsitului lui Voichita dar
ne-am trezit cu tragedia sfasietorae a celor doi copii, Jessica si Jason, ramasi aici singuri si despartiti
unul de altul.
Sambata m-a sunat Anuta sa-mi relateze despre cum au primit-o de Vochita si ce se intimpla si sa
multumeasca comunitatii romanesti din Chicago si tuturor donatorilor , pentru modul
crestinesc de a-i trata pe semeni. M-am ocupat ca Voichita sa fie imbracata in costumul national
maramuresan, asa cum mama ei a dorit sa o revada (dar nu in cosciug) si de fapt cum am cunoscut-o
noi acum patru ani cind a venit in State. Convorbirea s-a intrerupt din cauza sughiturilor de plans. Este
si de inteles.
Astazi am aflat de la Dl. Tavi Cojan ca inmormantarea Voichitei a avut loc duminica 9-Mar-08 si au fost
prezenti peste 500 de oameni. Dumnezeu sa o odihneasca in pace!
Paternity test:
Curtea juvenila i-a ordonat lui Rouman (zisul tata) acest test asa ca rezultatul am sa-l aflu Miercuri 12
Martie, la aceeasi curte din Hamilton Avenue. Am aflat ca Jessica nu este intr-o stare prea buna, a si
slabit citeva kg si nu este tare ingrijita la shelter home. Trebuie neaparat sa o scoatem din sistemul
DCFS. Nu stiu cum, dar trebuie.
Cam asta este deocamdata. Fie ca bunul Dumnezeu sa ne ajute miercuri la curtea juvenila si sa ne
arate calea cea adreapta.

| Am trimis in Romania la familia lui Voichita $1000 (+40 transfer fee) pentru inmormantare si pomana, am platit la Funeral Home $2205.40 (pe linga 2000 platiti de Rouman) pentru pregatire si zbor in Romania si $650.00 (+14) pentru transportul de la Otopeni acasa la Harnicesti. Bani ramasi si care vor mai aparea in cont se vor folosi numai si numai in interesul copilasilor Jessica si Jason. |
